To improve primary eye care in rural and underserved communities of Odisha, MNC-LEPRA Society, with support from SEVA Foundation, established three new Vision Centres in 2024 at Laikera (Jharsuguda), Reamal (Deogarh), and Rairakhol (Sambalpur). These centres provide tele-ophthalmology consultations, screening, spectacle dispensing, and referral services, bringing quality eye care closer to the community.
In addition, a residential Mid-Level Ophthalmic Personnel (MLOP) Training Centre has been launched to train and empower young women from marginalized communities with clinical and vocational skills, creating employment opportunities in eye care and strengthening local healthcare systems.
